I have read all of Barbara’s books except one (I will eventually read that one too).  I have yet to not like one of them.  Barbara Freethy knows how to tell a fantastic story and this one is no exception.  Falling For a Stranger is the story of Drew and Ria.  Drew is in the Coast Guard and met Ria at an island getaway.  They have one night and then she “dies” in a boating accident.  Fast forward and Drew sees her from afar in San Francisco and confronts her.  Despite everything, Drew can’t walk away from her and vows to help her.  I’m not going into more detail because I don’t want to spoil the book.

I really love the Callaways and am looking forward to reading about the rest of the family and unraveling the grandparents’ secret which we’re learning a little more about in each new book. One of the greatest parts of this story is making you believe in love at first sight. If you’re looking for a great feel good read with a bit of action and mystery, this book is for you!

That said – this is number 3 in the series.  Technically, you could read this standalone, but the minor storyline with Sara and Aiden in this book will mean more if you’ve read the others first.
